Author Kate Thompson is very sorry to announce that she’s had to postpone the Secrets of the Homefront Girls launch this Thursday 25 July, mentioned in a previous post here. Kate says: “The new date is Thursday 8th August still on 6.30 – 8pm in the community centre at 18 Rathbone Market, London, E16 1EJ. I’m sorry to disappoint so many of you and for the short notice.” Please let her know if you can make the new date by emailing Kate Thomson.

Age UK TV licence campaign delivers

Over 600,000 people have signed Age UK’s campaign to keep TV Licences free for the over 75’s. Many of these people would have paid for a licence each year for 40-50 years. You can add your signature to the Age UK Switched Off: Save Free TV for Older People campaign here.

Last week AGE UK handed in the letters that people wrote to our new Prime Minister at Conservative Campaign Headquarters. There was a lot of media attention. Age UK said: “We’ve been ramping up the pressure on him in the last few days. So I’ll let you know if he replies.”
