The Geezers’ Roman Road Faces exhibition is on show in the Idea Store Bow, opposite Tesco until the end of December.
Photos of locals from the Victorian to the post-war era are shown alongside photos of people today.
Two street scenes captured in c1950 have been recreated for the exhibition by local residents.
