Love Song for Whitechapel is a public art and musical project by artist Aya Haidar.

The song was inspired and based on contributions from students at Swanlea School and the Geezers.

It was written by the Geezers good friend, Tom Carradine, who recently played to a packed house at a community event organised by the Geezers in Bow.

Geezers Chair, Eddie Snooks said: “The Geezers turned out in numbers, we love anything that celebrates the East End. Our oldest Geezer Dennis Banks recalls the last days of music hall very well. He gave Tom’s ditty 10 out 10 and said that it was just like the good ol days.”

The Lyrics of Love song for Whitechapel will be projected on this wall opposite Tower Hamlets town Hall at dusk every evening for a year.

The whole song can be experienced at listening stations inside Whitechapel Gallery.

Joy Feltwell met Paloma Faith at the event and the pair of them really hit it off. Joy said she’s a lovely girl and really down to earth.
