London Fields Lido, E8 3EU, is open 7 days a week 6.30am to 9pm. Book your swim here. It is a 50 metre, Olympic size pool heated to 25°C. ✔️highly recommended.

The Lido was proudly opened by the LCC in 1931. It was allowed to fall into disrepair and closed in 1988. Following a campaign by local residents Hackney Council reopened it in 2006, and has been further upgraded recently. Sadly Victoria Park Lido, opened by Herbert Morrison in 1936, was demolished in 1990 after a long period of decline and closure. It was on the east side of Grove Road. It’s in the top photo here.
