This weekend the London Triathlon 2019 will be running across Tower Hamlets from near the Excel Centre to Westminster. I’ve cropped out our local section of the route in the map at the top here. This will result in a number of road closures between 5am to 2pm Sat 27th July, and from 7am to 6pm on the Sunday.
On both days, Lower Lea Crossing, Tidal Basin, Western Gateway (between Lower Lea Crossing and Seagull Lane) Seagull Lane, Sandstone Lane and Royal Albert Way will be closed to traffic.
Locally, on Sunday, East Smithfield, The Highway, Limehouse Link Tunnel will be closed in both directions. Aspen Way will be closed west bound between East India Tunnel and Limehouse Link Tunnel. The East India Tunnel west bound will also be closed. The full details are on the London Triathlon website.

East End road closures Sun 4th Aug 2019
Next weekend is Prudential Ride London, and on Sunday morning 30,000 cyclists will be setting off from the Olympic Park. Their graphic below gives the East End road closures which will finish about noon.

They say: “The A12 northbound remains open. The Blackwall Tunnel A102 is open in both directions, southbound is only accessible from the west. Roads adjoining the event routes will have local access only for residents and businesses.” Full details on the Prudential Ride London website.
