Local Film Screenings

The Fountainhead Screening in Bow

Free films every Thursday at Victoria Park Baptist Church

Victoria Park Baptist Church will be screening The Fountainhead at 7.30pm on Thursday, the 9th of March. All welcome, admission free. The church is on Grove Road, just north of Roman Road (E3 5TG).

Shawm Kreitzman, in his well researched and informative blogpost on The Illusion of Depth, says “The 1949 film adaptation of The Fountainhead is enormously fun (as long as you don’t try to turn it into a religion) and the sexual chemistry between Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal is very real (very very real, actually).”

Cutting Edge East Film Festival

This runs on Fri/Sat March 10th & 11th at the Genesis Cinema on Mile End Road. This film festival has been put together by a local group of 16-21 year-olds. More Cutting East Film Festival details here.

Tower Hamlets Town Hall has moved

The new town hall, in the once derelict 1750’s old Royal London Hospital building is straight across the road from Whitechapel station.
