Fixer wanted cash to get Tower Hamlets planning permission (according to Times)

The top story on the front of the Sunday Times today is about a fixer who (it is alleged) was trying to extort £2 million plus from a developer to get guaranteed planning permission for a big development on the Isle of Dogs. It looks like the money was to be given to some of Labour’s councillors.

The developer didn’t pay, and since the authorities haven’t acted, a whistleblower has released information including an incriminating audio recording to the Times. Follow this link to read the full story.
