Textile Exhibition in Canonbury now open

The Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art have a great exhibition called Italian Threads: MITA Textile Design 1926-1976. MITA was an Italian firm that specialized in rugs, tapestries and other textiles.

The exhibition showcases 50 years of bold commissions produced for world art fairs, private homes, clubs and ocean liners, encompassing the avant-garde movements of the day from Futurism to Abstract Expressionism.

The exhibitions is at 39a Canonbury Square, London N1 2AN near Highbury and Islington station. You can get there on the Overground from Whitechapel. It’s open Weds to Sat 11.00 – 18.00 and Sundays 12.00 – 17.00

Admission costs £7.50, Concessions £5.50, National Art Pass £3.75.
