Winter Warmer Gig at St Paul’s Church

The biggest gig Roman Road has seen in decades!

Start the Christmas season in style with a night of  live music and festive acts on Friday 5th December. The all-local, all-star line up includes Hornman, Sula Mae and Blind Buffalo, as well as an un-missable psychedelic dance routine from The Action Men.  Children welcome – an inter-generational night of magic is promised.

The event will be held at St Paul’s Church, an architectural gem a stone’s throw from The Roman. There will be a bar offering wine and soft drinks.

ADVANCE TICKETS (ends Thursday at midnight) just £3 and that will get you a FREE drink and mince pie too! Tickets on the door will be £5. Children go free.

A mix of house, dubstep, drum and bass, trip-hop, electro-swing, indie-pop, funk and ska, headline act Hornman this Bethnal Green band were shortlisted for the Larmertree breakthrough music award 2014. Read more here.
Bow’s Blind Buffalo has been shaped by London’s underground cabaret and UK’s festival scene. Interests in blues, swing, jazz and vintage vaudevillian style has created a sounds which can be described as surreal swing with twisted vocal harmonies. Read more here.
Born from a desire to assert their psychedelic masculinity in a post-feminist age through the medium of dance, Bethnal Green troupe, The Action Men, aims to liberate the hosts of shoe-gazing and corner-hiding men into a new dawn of northern-soul-meets-Ok-Go. Read more here.
Mile End born and raised,  Sula Mae is a London based singer-songwriter. Her influences span from the warm, soulful voice of Ella Fitzgerald, to the pixie folk sounds of Joanna Newsom. In 2009, Sula was a finalist at Future Radio’s Next Big Thing competition. Read more here.
St Paul’s Church on St Stephen’s Road, just off Roman Road, is one of Bow’s finest landmarks. St. Paul’s Bow refurbishment by Shoreditch architects Matthew Lloyd was shortlisted for the biennial award for Religious Architecture in 2008 run jointly by ACE and RIBA. Read more here.
