Artist in Residence: ‘Games for May’

The Victoria Park Artist in Residence, Travis Elborough, had a great first event on Sunday, leading a talk about sporting history in the Park.  He has three more events at the park this month, the next being on the 12 May at 7pm and is called ‘Picture a Park- films on running, football and pre Olympic East End’.  More information and book a place

Half Term Water Week

We have been working hard planning different activties for children to participate in over the half term week – we hope you enjoy! See below for the schedule – click here for more information or the links below to book:

Monday 25 May | 12 – 3pm | Canoeing Taster Day
Try out canoeing on our model boating lake!  Coaching available – booking strongly advised.  Suitable for 9+ and swimmers only.  Book a place

Tuesday 26 May | 12 – 3pm | Fishing Taster Day
For all your budding anglers out there!  Come and see what fish you can catch on the day.  Suitable for 4+  Book a place

Wednesday 27 May | 10.30 – 3pm | Amphibian Fun Day
Join us and our friends from Froglife for arts and crafts, face painting and amphibian hunts!  No need to book, just turn up to the Hub building.

Thursday 28 May | 12 – 3pm | Water Fun Day
To celebrate our Pools Playground opening for the summer, join the rangers for an afternoon of water filled fun!  No need to book, just turn up to the Pools Playground

Friday 29 May | 12 – 3pm | Model Boat Taster Day
Try out a range of model boats on our lake or have a go at making your own!  No need to book, just turn up to the Model Boating Lake

Wildlife Workshops

We’re really excited to announce our new timetable of information and learning sessions in partnership with Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park.  Our first wildlife workshops start next month – book now to avoid disappointment!  As usual, all events are free – more to be announced soon!

Saturday 13 June | 10.30am – 12.30pm | Wonderful World of Weeds
Appreciate & understand weeds during this session.  Learn about why they’re successful, how to control them, and what they are good for

Saturday 20 June | 1.30pm – 3.30pm | Wildfood Walk
A walk and talk to learn about and forage for seasonal wild food. See, taste, smell, collect and eat!

Learning something new about the Park – try your hand at some gardening or take part in an audio tour.

Wednesday 20 May | 10.30 – 12pm | Wednesday Wellness Walks
Enjoy a walk and talk with the rangers around the Park.  No need to book, just turn up to the Hub building

Saturday 30 May | 10.30am – 1.30pm | Make your Mark on Vicky Park
Join our rangers to help carry out some practical conservation in the Park.  Lunch vouchers for the Pavilion Cafe will be provided.  More information Book a place

Sunday 31 May | 10am – 12.30pm | Memoryscape History Walk
Take a trip down Memory Lane and join the Rangers on a recorded audio trail around the Park.  Limited spaces available, book here

Saturday 6 June | 10am – 12.30pm | Junior Wildlife Club
Come and join the rangers on a scavenger hunt around the east side of the park.  Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult.  Meet at the Hub building
