Tenants artwork on display at Bow Arts

Dolly Mixtures is Notting Hill Housing’s biennial art exhibition, the fourth exhibition to present artwork from their tenants. Dolly Mixtures – cockney rhyming slang for pictures – plays on the Nunnery Gallery’s east end location and the roots of the original Londoner.

There will be a special East Meets West Elders day on Thursday, April 28, 2016 when older people’s groups in Bow are invited to meet and greet some of Dolly Mixture’s older artists and take part in a practical and informal creative workshop.

Address: The Nunnery, 181 Bow Road, London E3 2SJ.  Time: 2-4pm

Dolly Mixtures presents work by tenants of all ages from hugely varied backgrounds, all of whom express themselves through art. The exhibition covers many genres in painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture and installation, showcasing a diversity of styles and approaches.

Many of the artists create to relax or escape, using creativity as a response to life’s difficulties and as a vehicle to express themselves in an increasingly isolating and lonesome world. Other artworks tell the stories of the makers themselves and the relationship they have with London.

Everyone welcome.  The exhibition runs:  Friday, April 8, 2016 to Sunday, June 12, 2016  Opening Hours: 10am – 5pm Address: The Nunnery, 181 Bow Road, London E3 2SJ
