Where’s My Boozer Gone?
Artist Lucy Schofield in conversation with The Geezers at the Art Pavilion, Mile End Park about their project exploring the disappearance of pubs in the area.
Tuesday 17 February between 2pm and 4pm
The Geezers are a group of elder citizens in Bow who meet regularly and run a number of projects in the area including the OurBow.com website. Lucy Schofield is an artist working with the Geezers on their Where’s My Boozer Gone project.
The Geezers will share their stories and findings of how the disappearance of the pub as a social focal point affects the Bow and Mile End area.
Come along and meet them, and see Louise Gridley’s painting of the Geezers – The Last Supper, and other paintings in the exhibition.
Loiuse worked with the Geezers last year talking to them, sketching and photographing them for her painting The Last Supper. Visit our post here for her description of the process and to see some of her prelimnary sketches.
The Misbehaviour Exhibition is running from the 14th -22nd February, 11am – 7pm, at the Art Pavilion, Clinton Road, Mile End, London E3 4QY.
