The geezers said they would like to spend some time watching greyhounds going round chasing something that they think is an hare. Don’t tell the dogs that its actually an orange windsock .

Now for a ‘did you know?’ moment.
In the 1940s, there were seventy-seven licensed tracks and over two hundred independent tracks in the United Kingdom, of which thirty-three were in London.
Romford is now the only London Track.
With the help and inside knowledge of Mr Tony Smart we spent a not very profitable but excellent afternoon in the Paddock restaurant.
It’s actually still very popular and good value at £20 for a three course meal on a Tuesday afternoon.
Thanks to Paul Tucker for some fantastic photos.
