“I Love London and I Love Paris but I am a Child of the Pine Woods and the Sands in Ramsgate”
Said Vincent Van Gogh in a letter home, he lived in Ramsgate in 1876.
He didn’t stay for very long but it left an impression on him.

Like Vincent a coach full of East Enders came to visit, not from Holland but from Bow. A trip that must have been done so many times before by our Mums Dads Nans and Grandads.

Ramsgate has a lot going for it WW2 tunnels a royal harbour that was a major player in the little ships heroic rescue mission from Dunkirk.

Oh and the biggest Spoons I’ve ever seen in a brilliant grade two listed building on the beach.

We loved Ramsgate and if you visit you will to.

A big thank you to AFB for making it possible.
