We had a really good turn out for the Geezers guided tour of St Bart’s North Wing including the newly restored Hogarth painted staircase.The guide on the day was second from the right Fay Mcdermott from Barts Heritage who was so helpful and very knowlegable, we would recomend you book the tour.
No tour of the Smithfield area would be complete without a visit to The William Wallace memorial.

The walls and area around the monument are covered in the the scars of more recent bloody British history. Smithfield Market suffered significant bomb damage during World War II, particularly from German air raids in the Blitz with high-explosive bombs hitting in September 1940 causing destruction, and later devastation from a V2 rocket in 1945, leading to casualties and widespread wreckage in the historic meat market area.
St Bartholomew the Great was also on the list of amazing places to see on the tour.I would recomend you visit this hidden treasure at some time in your life you will not be dissapointed.
