This year’s local Our Big Gig community music event takes place this Sunday July 13th in Victoria Park on the Opera Field near the Rustic Shelter. 1.00 − 7.30

Our Big Gig is a community music celebration taking place across England and Scotland from the 11th – 13th July 2014. This annual event aims to bring communities together to celebrate their local musical talents and get more people involved in music making. For 2014, Superact has provided grants to 150 Community Organisations in England to host Our Big Gig events in 2014 and is funding 15 more in Scotland as part of Glasgow 2014. In addition, Superact is also overseeing a crowdfunding campaign to allow even more events can take place. All events will be at least four hours long, free to attend and will present opportunities for people to participate in a range of musical activities.
