New Men’s Club Starting in Bethnal Green

The Geezers are always over-subscribed for new members so they are very happy to see a new men’s club starting up in Bethnal Green.  The Geezers club in Bow has been going for 7 years now and its members are very positive about its effects on their health and well-being. So please support the new club.

Here’s the info about it:

Ever fancy escaping to a tool shed at the bottom of the garden to build or fix something, but haven’t got a garden, a shed or any tools?

WHAT: We are setting up a small community wood workshop in Bethnal Green for older gents to use like their own shed. A Carpentry Club of sorts, in which you can drop in to use the facilities.

WHY: To get out the house and be productive (an alternative to the cafe, pub, bookies, library, church, mosque, community centre or the bingo!) To make or fix whatever you want (e.g. models, toys, guitars, bird boxes; furniture, picture frames, drawers etc.). To meet and socialise with other local gents over some sawdust and a cuppa tea. To maintain your craft skills, learn new skills or teach old ones (basic and specialist woodwork).
INVITATION: Please come to our first meeting where you can see the workshop (in its early stages!!) and find out more.
WHEN: Wednesday the 6th of May at 11am – 1pm. Tea and biscuits will be served.
WHERE: Oxford House, Derbyshire Street, Bethnal Green, E2 6HG (Between Weaver’s Fields and the large Tesco in the middle of Bethnal Green Road)
CONTACT: Please register your interest by emailing workshop@samsonandfox.com, calling Anna Pancikova on 020 7739 9001 or just by dropping in to Oxford House.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU!
This initiative is supported by the Men’s Shed Network, Oxford House and Samson & Fox.
